How Alvio uses AI
Alvio Group Limited uses artificial-intelligence models to help accountants work faster: to analyse records, reconcile and categorise transactions, draft documents and communications, summarise information and answer scoped questions. AI is used as an assistant under your direction — never as an autonomous decision-maker for your clients.
Models and providers
AI features are delivered through Alvio’s own model layer, which routes requests to carefully selected AI providers. Those providers act as our sub-processors and process data under contractual confidentiality terms. We present these capabilities under the Alvio brand; the specific underlying models may change as we adopt better technology, without reducing the protections described here.
We never train AI models on your data
We do not use your content, your clients’ data, or anything you submit to Alvio to train or fine-tune AI models — neither our own nor any third party’s. Our AI providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their models and operate under zero-retention or strictly limited-retention terms: your data is used only to return your result, then discarded. We do not sell your data, and we never share it with anyone other than the sub-processors strictly necessary to deliver the feature you have asked for.
Human in the loop
You stay in command. The platform is designed so that a person reviews and approves consequential output before anything leaves the system.
- Actions that write to external systems or send communications require your explicit approval by default.
- AI produces drafts and recommendations; the partner or responsible professional signs off.
- You can review the evidence behind a result before you accept it.
Accuracy and limitations
AI output can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. It is provided to assist, not to replace, professional judgement, and it is not accountancy, audit, tax, legal or investment advice. You are responsible for verifying output before filing, sending or relying on it.
Scope limits
AI features are scoped to the task and the data you are entitled to. For example, where a client uses an Alvio portal to ask questions, the assistant is restricted to that client’s own ledger and accounting records and will not answer outside that scope. Tenant isolation applies to AI features just as it does to the rest of the platform.
Data handling for AI
Data sent to AI providers for processing is transmitted securely and handled in line with our Privacy Policy, our Data Processing terms and the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where AI processing involves a transfer of personal data outside the United Kingdom, we apply an appropriate transfer safeguard.
Your controls
AI usage is metered transparently to your account. If you have questions about how a feature uses AI, or you wish to discuss restrictions for your firm, contact info@alvio.io.
Changes
We may update this policy as our AI capabilities evolve. This version is effective 23 June 2026.
